Calaveras County Sheriff s Office sought help identifying this man
Mountain Ranch, CA The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office earlier released a photo and requested tips from the public about a suspect wanted for questioning in relation to the setting of several recent fires.
Numerous tips were reported to law enforcement, and it led officials to investigate 33-year-old Carl Morrison of Mountain Ranch. Sgt. Greg Stark reports, “During the contact with Morrison, new information and evidence was discovered and Morrison was arrested.”
He was charged with arson of an inhabited structure, arson of forest land, burglary, vehicle theft, and misdemeanor theft.

Between November 26th and November 27th, 2020, three fires of questionable origin were reported, extinguished, and investigated. The fires had been ignited in the area of Boards Crossing Road in Dorrington and resulted in the complete loss of one structure as well as damage to several acres of land.
An ongoing and joint investigation between the Ebbetts Pass Fire Department, Cal Fire, and the Calaveras County Sheriffâs Office has resulted in the seizure of multiple items of evidence. Camera footage of a person who was observed in the area during the times of the fires igniting was also obtained by investigators.

Dorrington, CA – The man pictured in the image box could have the answers investigators are looking for regarding three suspicious fires over two days last month on the same road in the Dorrington area of Calaveras County.
Sheriff’s detectives are hoping the public may be able to identify the man who was caught on security camera footage in the area of the fires. Sgt. Greg Stark tells Clarke Broadcasting, “He may have information that could help the investigation. He may have seen a car in the area, somebody walking in the area then the fire started.
