CHP to host virtual Start Smart class June 25
FAIRFIELD The Solano County office of the California Highway Patrol is hosting a free online Start Smart class from 6 to 8 p.m. June 25
It will be a virtual program via Zoom. Call 428-2100 to register for the class and to receive the Zoom link.
Start Smart is aimed at helping newly licensed or soon-to-be licensed teenage drivers become more aware of the responsibilities involved in being a licensed California driver.
Teens and their parents/guardians are invited to attend and participate in the free two-hour class. CHP officers speak directly to the students through candid conversations, discussing topics such as collision avoidance techniques, along with collision causing elements such as excessive speed, impaired driving and distracted driving.

Officers said 151 vehicles were screened in total. Eight drivers were issued citations for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license and two drivers were arrested for DUI.
