The board president complained that parents only wanted schools open so teachers could serve as their “babysitters” again. Another board member said parents wanted closures to end so they could have drugs delivered to their homes more easily.  School closures during the pandemic have certainly increased tensions between some schools and parents. Education leaders have had to make tough decisions based on what they think is best for the broader community.
