distributing Golden State Stimulus payments of $600 or $1,200 to eligible Californians, as part of a $9.6bn statewide coronavirus aid package signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom in February.

Taxpayers need to have filed their 2020 state tax return to receive a Golden State Stimulus check - and
the information you included in your return determines whether you’ll receive your payment via direct deposit or through the mail by paper check.

California stimulus payments for those who filed their taxes between March 2 and April 23 will be received beginning after May 1, the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) advises.
Recipients should allow up to two weeks after their tax returns have been processed for direct deposit stimulus payments to arrive and up to four to six weeks for paper checks, the FTB says.
Those who filed their taxes after April 23 should allow up to 45 days after their tax return has been processed for direct deposit payments and up to 60 days for paper checks.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) â â California residents who qualify for the state s Golden State Stimulus may have already noticed the stimulus payments hit their bank accounts.
The $600 or $1,200 payments aimed at supporting low-income Californians and those facing hardships due to the pandemic. The payments are part of a $9.6 billion spending deal that was passed earlier this year by state legislators and signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Californians are set to receive at least $600 from the state government, and the sooner a person files their tax return, the sooner they ll see the money.
The additional stimulus money is intended to support California s low-income households and comes in addition to the three rounds of direct payments that people have already received from the federal government. An estimated 5.7 million people are expected to receive the extra financial boost, including some who weren t eligible for the three rounds of direct payments Congress previously passed.
