When mixed with rain water, these substances create a slick layer on the road that becomes slippery and can cause vehicles to hydroplane, sliding on the roadway out of control. The California Department of Transportation is urging drivers to do the following: make sure your tires have appropriate tread and air pressure and test your windshield wipers. Snow Could Affect Grapevine As Rain, Cool Temperatures In Santa Clarita Weather Forecast
Cooler temperatures and rain are in the Santa Clarita weather forecast for the next week, bringing snow levels down to elevations that could affect the Grapevine.
Starting Friday the first of three storms is expected to arrive in Santa Clarita, said Rich Thompson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
“The first chance of rain will be beginning (Friday) afternoon through Sunday morning, with the best chance of rain during the day Saturday,” Thompson said.
The first storm is expected to bring light scattered showers, bringing at most one-quarter inch of rain, according to officials.
The Port of San Diego held a community forum on Wednesday, Feb. 21, to address existing challenges and identify opportunities for improvement between two cargo terminals.
The forum was held as part of the Harbor Drive Multimodal Corridor, a study that aims to examine how people use Harbor Drive and especially focuses on the area between the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal in San Diego and the National City Marine Terminal.
Residents, business owners, and visitors of the area met with staff from the Port of San Diego at the San Diego Continuing Education Cesar E. Chavez Campus from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
