Montgomery College President DeRionne Pollard was named a finalist this week for the top position at Nevada State College.

Montgomery College President DeRionne Pollard is one of four finalists for the top position at Nevada State College.
Pollard, who took the helm at Montgomery College in 2010, will participate in a Nevada State public forum for the finalists on April 27. Nevada State plans to announce its final selection on April 29, according to its website.
In a statement, Montgomery College wrote that Pollard “responded to this unique opportunity because it aligns with her deep commitment to student access and success in higher education.”
A large crowd marched through downtown Mountain View Sunday to protest anti-Asian hate.
Hundreds of people took to the streets of downtown Mountain View Sunday to show support for the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, as well as to call attention to anti-Asian racism both historically and in the present day.
Protesters gathered at the Mountain View train station and marched to Mountain View City Hall, where speakers, including young people and elected officials, addressed the crowd. High school students spearheaded the event.
Los Altos High School junior Jeannette Wang volunteered to help organize the event after seeing repeated reports of anti-Asian hate incidents. Wang has friends and family members who are afraid to go outside and is fearful for her own grandparents’ safety.

The website, created and managed by the city s Economic Development Department, is intended to promote the benefits of being a local beer manufacturer, showcase more than 100 establishments for beer enthusiasts, and educate about the programs available to keep breweries, brewpubs and tasting rooms operating throughout the COVID 19 pandemic.
