LOS ANGELES, CA A California Highway Patrol officer in Glendora recently discovered the Mona Lisa of carpool dummies, complete with glasses, a face mask properly covering its mouth and nose, crow s feet and even a twinkle in its cheeky eyes.
Maybe it was the Indians cap deep in the heart of Dodgers territory, but the officer grew suspicious and ended the dummy s year-and-a-half run cruising the carpool lane on the Foothill Freeway.
Kevin Russell Szigeti, 25, of San Jose, was arrested on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop west of Copperopolis on Monday.
At around 4:50 p.m., the Calaveras County Sheriffâs Dispatch Center received a call regarding a possibly intoxicated driver traveling westbound on Highway 4 east of Telegraph Road in Copperopolis. A deputy patrolling the area pulled over a vehicle matching the description near the county line shortly afterwards, and contacted Szigeti, who was behind the wheel.
âDuring the deputyâs contact, he noted Szigeti had a difficult time standing on his own, a difficult time communicating with the deputy, and other observations consistent with a person who is intoxicated,â a press release from the sheriffâs office reads. âA California Highway Patrol Officer responded and confirmed that Szigeti was driving while impaired. Szigeti was arrested without incident.â

On December 10, 2020, at approximately 1729 hours, a California Highway Patrol Officer assigned to the Garberville Area attempted to stop a blue Nissan Sentra for a speed violation on northbound US-101 south of Leggett, CA.
The vehicle failed to yield and a pursuit ensued northbound on US-101. Additional Garberville Area units responded to the pursuit and deployed a successful spike strip in the Richardson Grove area. Two tires deflated and the Nissan came to a stop on US-101 south of Garberville. The driver (CHAVEZ) and right front passenger (male, unidentified) fled from the Nissan and down a steep embankment, west of US-101. Officers detained one female party (HERRERA) in the vehicle before pursuing the two other occupants. Officers pursued the male suspects on foot and apprehended CHAVEZ. The male passenger was not located. Approximately one pound of suspected methamphetamine was located in the Nissan.
