New morning meteorologist coming to CBS 42

New Orleans TV meteorologist Dave Nussbaum is coming to Birmingham’s CBS 42 in 2021.
He starts in Birmingham on Jan. 2. Nussbaum has been at the New Orleans station for almost seven years, according to a Facebook post on his professional page.
“I will be the morning meteorologist at WIAT CBS 42,” Nussbaum wrote. “I’m looking forward to the forecast challenges there from tornadoes to winter weather and still dealing with some tropical weather.”
Before WWL-TV, he worked for 10 years at the CBS affiliate in Baton Rouge. According to CBS 42, Nussbaum has been a meteorologist in Louisiana for 16 years, including Hurricanes Katrina and Gustav, the worst tornado outbreak in Southeastern Louisiana’s history (on Feb. 23, 2016) and the EF-3 New Orleans East tornado (on Feb. 7, 2017).

Mayor William Lee of Speers Borough has died.
âHe was a very good mayor,â borough council member Richard Daylong said Sunday. âHe fought for Speers and did a lot for the borough.â
His passing was reported Saturday morning on the Charleroi Fire Departmentâs Facebook page.
âBill was always there when we needed something and he will be missed,â the Facebook post states.
Mr. Lee, a 1963 graduate of Charleroi High School, served on the board of directors for the Mon Valley Alliance, an organization that promotes economic development. According to the allianceâs website, he was retired after 30 years as a sales manager for Lee Supply, a Charleroi-based pipeline component supply company. He was a member of the Charleroi Area School board for eight years and served on Speers Borough Council.
