None of the schools in question are open for learning, of course, but educating children in any sort of healthy or fruitful way is largely beside the point these days. The destructive adults in charge have now set their sights on dismantling one of the most prestigious and revered high schools under their jurisdiction. Their justification for seeking to take a wrecking ball to a bastion of established success? Diversity concerns, naturally. The San Francisco Chronicle reports:

In Yermo, Silver Valley Unified School District upgrades facilities to benefit students Recently completed infrastructure project to bring $200K in annual energy savings By Angela Stevens For the Victorville Daily Press The Silver Valley Unified School District on Friday announced it recently completed an infrastructure upgrade project expected to result in more than $200,000 in annual energy savings, or over 1.4 million kWh of energy per year.   The project  a partnership between the Yermo-based Silver Valley and Schneider Electric, a company that specializes in energy and sustainability  allowed the district to secure financing, upgrade outdated equipment and use the savings to reinvest in school environments for the high-achieving Silver Valley High School students.

With an entire cheer squad of siblings by her side, a video of a Santa Ana High School senior reacting to her acceptance to Harvard University has gone viral. The 260-student school is one of two in California selected among 100 schools nationwide to receive the honor. It was selected for exceeding in closing the achievement gap between different groups of students and ensuring students who need extra assistance grow academically. Being recognized as a 2020 NESEA Distinguished School is a testament to the commitment and dedication of our entire Solano community to ensure that we remain focused on student learning, Solano Avenue Elementary School Principal Jorge Parra said.
