Man dies after head-on crash near Columbia Falls

A Columbia Falls man died after he lost control of his vehicle, crashing head-on with another vehicle Saturday afternoon near Columbia Falls.
Montana Highway Patrol dispatch tells MTN News that a 30-year-old man from Columbia Falls was driving west on U.S. Highway 2, near Sunrise Creek Drive, when he lost control of his car around a curve and hit another car head on. The man died at the scene.
The driver in the second vehicle, a 20-year-old woman, and her 57-year-old female passenger, both from Columbia Falls, were injured and taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

KALISPELL â Moving Forward Adaptive Sports (
link) delivered more than 600 gifts to families in need this holiday season during its annual Gifts Of Love event.
Starla and Shannon Barnes started the event eight years ago to make sure that no one goes without cheer during the holidays.
The group delivered presents to Kalispell Regional Medical Center as well as the veterans home in Kalispell, and also delivered presents to familyâs homes.
Starla says that she would not be able to continue this event without help from the community: âFor me it s huge and humbling at the same time knowing that we have such an amazing community that will step up when people need it,â she said.

Teri Lynn Miller, a St. Ignatius paramedic, was one of the first people in the Mission Valley to receive a coronavirus vaccine. She joined more than 3,000 Montana health care workers who received the injection last week at 10 Montana hospitals.
“I kind of scooted out of the normal lane to get it,” she said in an interview last Friday. A friend who’s a dental hygienist sent her a link to register and Miller was able to get an injection of the recently approved Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine last Thursday at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
A day later, she reported that her arm was sore, she felt achy and had a mild headache. “I feel kind of crappy today, but not too bad.” She receives a booster Jan. 7.
