Type 2 American Gold Eagles Coming Soon United States Mint was looking to change the reverse design of the American Silver Eagle, it was not known outside the Mint that officials there were also seeking to change the reverse design of the American Gold Eagle. Last October, the Mint unveiled the new, Type 2 reverse that will begin appearing on 2021 Gold Eagles around the middle of the year. This design will be featured in 2021 on bullion coins, Proofs, burnished uncirculated coins, and some special issues – including a two-coin $5, 1/10th ounce set, the details of which have not yet been revealed. Art blooms in Dixieland: 1st work to come from Art Infusion program

LAKELAND – Lakeland artist Kate Hall has finished the Crape Blossoms mural on the south side of  Low Country Vintage, an antiques store at 913 S. Florida Ave. in Lakeland. It is the first public artwork to be completed as part of the Lakeland Community Redevelopment Agency s Art Infusion Program for the Dixieland corridor.  I m happy to have it done, Hall told The Ledger. I ve already had some other businesses ask me about working with them, and it s getting people excited about art.   Hall had approached Allyson Barr, the owner of Low Country Vintage, about doing the roughly 100-foot by 25-foot mural on the side of the former home to Lundy s Bakery, purchased by Publix Supermarkets founder George Jenkins in 1950 to supply the chain s baked goods.

US Mint to honor Tuskegee Airmen with special quarter Updated Jan 02, 2021; Facebook Share The Tuskegee Airmen are being honored by the U.S. Mint with a quarter dedicated to the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site. The coin, which will be the final installment in the mint’s popular America the Beautiful Quarters Program, is slated to be officially released Monday. All of the nearly 1,000 Black military pilots who trained in the U.S. during World War II did so in Tuskegee. Of those, 450 were deployed overseas and 150 died, including 66 who were killed in action. There were also more than 15,000 support staff, like navigators, bombardiers and mechanics.
