EgSA signs agreement with Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology

The educational lab satellite project is linked to the technology education platform with co-financing and co-operation from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.
The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) has signed an executive agreement with the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (EJUST).
The agreement aims to provide EJUST with an educational satellite model for communication, remote sensing and space environment applications. It would also strengthen research, development and innovation efforts.
Dr Mohammed Iraqi, Executive Vice President of EgSA explained that EgSA seeks to strengthen its partnership with all universities to achieve its strategic objectives, which includes improving the depth of space knowledge in Egypt and contributes to the country’s vision 2030.
The COVID-19 pandemic has devastated global economies, healthcare systems, and institutions including universities. It has accelerated trends towards the digitalisation of economic and social life and the need for digital skills. Here we focus on how African higher education institutions can embrace these changes in order to survive and succeed in the emerging “new normal”. The pandemic has exposed the huge developmental challenges that African universities face, while at the same time it has opened immense new opportunities for transformation. The continent is indeed at the proverbial crossroads in which the multiple demographic, economic, ecological, political and social problems confronting it can be turned into possibilities if managed with strategic, systemic and smart interventions, and the seriousness they deserve.

The Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities (AGYA), based at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW) in Germany and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) in Egypt, is pleased to announce its Call for Membership Applications 2021. AGYA promotes research cooperation among excellent early-career researchers (3-10 years after PhD) from all disciplines affiliated with a research institution in Germany or any Arab country. The academy supports innovative interdisciplinary projects by its members in various fields of research, science policy, and education. AGYA members from 19 countries so far have realized joint projects and initiatives on topics such as Arab and German Education; Common Heritage and Common Challenges; Energy, Water and Environment; Health and Society; Transformation; and Innovation.
