Anthony pays tribute to Boseman in his award acceptance speech
LONDON: Anthony Hopkins paid tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman in a message thanking the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for awarding him an Oscar that had been widely expected to go to Boseman.
Hopkins, 83, won the best actor prize on Sunday for his portrayal of a man with dementia in ‘The Father’, an upset victory over Boseman who had been considered the runaway front-runner for his role in ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’.

Another awards season has come and gone and golden statues have been handed out. This year’s Oscars marked the 93rd Best Picture winner which is considered the best film of the year by the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Their voting process is a little weird, but always leaves one film standing on top – except for the odd occasion where someone mixes up the envelopes.

LOS ANGELES: “Nomadland,” the story of van dwellers in America, won the best picture Oscar and two other Academy Awards on a triumphant night for women that also saw a return to Hollywood glamour after a long pandemic shutdown.
In a major upset, Britain’s Anthony Hopkins won the best actor trophy for his role as a man battling dementia in “The Father.” The Oscar had been widely expected to go to the late Chadwick Boseman for his final film, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”
