It s almost time for the Oscars, and in case you re wondering, no, Hollywood s golden guy didn t miss his entrance cue.
Postponed for almost two months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 93rd Academy Awards will finally air live at 7 p.m. Sunday on ABC.
Despite the strangely shifted schedule, the 2021 Oscars, offer some inspirational rooting interests for Oklahoma film fans, along with plenty of questions about how show biz s biggest night will adjust to these pandemic times.

Last year was a turning point for the Oscar category which had for decades been known as best foreign language film.
First came the name change. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences decided the word foreign was starting to feel out of date.
Then, the newly-named best international feature award went to the South Korean satire Parasite. A hit with audiences and critics around the world, it won a total of four Academy Awards including best picture.
The Role: Ma Rainey, the Mother of the Blues and leader of her band. The groundbreaking musician and LGBTQ icon was once dubbed the ugliest woman in show business, and with the aid of false teeth, horsehair wigs, elaborate gowns, and a fat suit, Oscar winner Viola Davis gave life to the woman whose voice would have hundreds queuing up for hours just hear her croon or catch a glimpse of her on stage. Davis embodied not just Rainey’s presence on stage but also her steadfast determination not to allow anyone to diminish or dismiss her worth.
The Odds: Currently, there isn’t a clear frontrunner for Best Actress. Andra Day won the Golden Globe, Carey Mulligan took home the Critics Choice, and Frances McDormand won the BAFTA, but we are giving Viola Davis’ win at the SAG Awards the most weight and believe she will be our likely winner.
