Oscar-nominated shorts spotlight Black life in Los Angeles

Print Los Angeles natives Travon Free and Kris Bowers have more in common than their hometown. The first-time directors both received Oscar nominations last month for their short films, which are currently streaming and boast name-brand support from the filmmaking and Black communities.
