LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 2, 2021) During the spring of last year, a series of unprecedented transitions were underway at the University of Kentucky.
UK HealthCare was treating the first patient in Kentucky who tested positive for COVID-19. Faculty and staff quickly moved every class to a remote learning format. Athletic events came to a grinding halt as teams discussed whether to cancel or postpone entire seasons.
And that was just the beginning.
For many, this time one year ago marks the anniversary of the realization that life as they knew it was being fundamentally altered.
Reimagining a “new normal” for an entire campus community and beyond was a daunting task. But together, the UK family has risen to the challenge exemplifying what’s truly possible in the face of adversity.

The University of North Georgia has partnered with Northeast Georgia Health System to offer a pilot program this spring that gives students the ability to work and grow alongside their peers.
The opportunity involves clinical instruction at Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville and Lumpkin hospitals, as well as Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Urgent Care and Primary Care facilities.
UK announces 10 commencement ceremonies for 2020, spring 2021 grads

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â The University of Kentucky announced Thursday its plan to host 10 in-person commencement ceremonies the weekend of May 14 through 16 at Rupp Arena, for May 2021 and all 2020 UK graduates.
Multiple ceremonies have been scheduled to limit seating, ensuring proper physical distancing can be implemented, UK said in a release. Masks will also be required for all graduates and guests who attend.
Participating Graduates are allowed to bring up to four guests to their ceremony.
Ticketing information will be communicated to the graduates and families in the coming weeks. The ceremonies will also be live-streamed for guests who cannot attend.
