Chicago native and No. 1 Billboard Gospel artist Jonathan McReynolds will take the virtual stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, and for an encore at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, to lift up audiences at the free 37th Annual Salute to Gospel Music Program hosted by the College of Lake County. The college is proud to bring this gospel music tradition to homes in Lake County and around the country, said Derrick Harden, CLC vice president and chief of staff.
Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company to Receive $10K Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts
(FORT LEE, NJ) Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company has been approved for a $10,000 Grants for Arts Projects award to support the Company s Year of the Golden Ox Celebration. This project will provide the necessary funding support to make this year s festival possible and allowing the Company to bring some of the leading Asian American Artists together virtually. The Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company project is among 1,073 projects across America totaling nearly $25 million that were selected during this first round of fiscal year 2021 funding in the Grants for Arts Projects funding category.
In 1895, Oscar Wilde’s play “The Importance of Being Earnest” opened successfully on a London stage and was praised for its humor and satire of high society. That play will open live more than a century later on Feb. 26 at the College of Lake County. But it will be done live via Zoom and not on stage. Each actor will be at their own home from Milwaukee to Lake County to Chicago, working with their computers and props to put on the show.

Ingleside native Olivia Peterson, 28, is no stranger to higher education, nor starting a new career.
After graduating high school, she pursued a bachelor s degree, and then a master s, in music with the goal of becoming a professional classical musician.
It s a world she s been a part of most of her life, even participating in the College of Lake County Wind Ensemble when she was about 12 years old. However, preparing for the career, and actually taking part in it, ended up being two very different things.
