MSU remembers alumna and former trustee Barbara Sawyer-Koch
The Michigan State University community is remembering alumna, trustee emerita and philanthropist Barbara Sawyer-Koch, 72, who died March 6, 2021.
Born in Menominee, Michigan, Sawyer-Koch was retired from the Michigan Department of Treasury. She earned her master’s degree in public administration in 1990 from the College of Social Science and served on the MSU Board of Trustees from Jan. 1, 1979, through 1994. Her husband, Donald Koch, a professor emeritus in the Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts and Letters, preceded her in death in 2018.
The pair were members of the Wharton and Landon giving societies, supporting MSU over many years and in many ways.

– education and child care workers, including K-12 and higher education and
– food manufacturing workers
Pearce says plenty of vaccine and appointments remain available. Interested participants may register by clicking here or by calling 870-680-8880 to schedule an appointment. Those who receive a vaccine on March 6 will be required to return to First National Bank Arena on April 3 to receive their second dose.
The event is free to the public, and no insurance information is required, Pearce says.

JONESBORO, AR – Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson announced Tuesday that individuals employed in the food manufacturing industry are now eligible to receive vaccination for COVID-19, and those individuals are invited to register for a community vaccination event scheduled for Saturday, March 6 in Jonesboro.
With the governor’s announcement, Saturday’s event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at First National Bank Area, is now open to those in the following categories:
Those who are age 65 and older
