Howard University is honoring the late Chadwick Boseman in a major way.
The college has announced that they will rename The College Of Fine Arts after the actor who graduated from the HBCU in the year 2000.
Howard University’s President Wayne A.I. Frederick, released a statement about their decision. “We are very excited. This is the right thing to do. Chadwick’s love for Howard UNiveristy was sincere, and although he did not live to see those plans through to fruition, it is my honor to ensure his legacy lives on.”
Frederick also revealed that Boseman had served on the college’s board before his death and had plans to start a Master’s Class series for Howard students.

Howard University has posthumously honored Chadwick Boseman by naming its newly re-established College of Fine Arts after the actor.
The honor comes 20 years after Boseman, as a student, led a protest against plans to merge the university s College of Fine Arts into the College of Fine Arts and Sciences.
Boseman graduated from Howard in 2000 with a bachelor s degree in directing.
He rose to prominence in Hollywood by playing roles of Black icons like Jackie Robinson, James Brown and Thurgood Marshall.
The Black Panther star died in August after battling colon cancer.
