Men’s and women’s swim teams receive academic recognition
On Jan. 19, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the Fall 2020 Scholar All-America teams and both men’s and women’s swim teams made the top ten appearances for Division II.
Teams were selected based on their fall 2020 GPAs. The Flyer men finished the semester with a combined 3.45 GPA, while the women ended with a 3.68.
Head Coach Roger Karns expressed his gratification regarding the academic achievement of his swimmers. “With the ongoing pandemic and stress of being a student-athlete, I was really impressed by their efforts,” said Karns. “It is not easy to be an athlete and do good in the classroom, yet our teams always do.”
