Long-time sweethearts Raymond E. and Valerie Hanks spent their Cinco de Mayo sitting side-by-side Wednesday outside of the adjoining senior living facilities in Bankers Hill they call home.
In normal years, it wouldn’t be strange for the married couple of 55 years to spend an afternoon in the shared courtyard of St. Paul’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and St. Paul’s Manor.
But after a year kept largely apart due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the afternoon felt special.
When Valerie, 76, first moved into St. Paul’s Nursing four years ago because of her worsening dementia and multiple sclerosis, it was difficult for Raymond, 82, as he adjusted to her absence. He soon moved into the adjoining Manor an independent living facility to be closer to her, and they would visit about six times a day either in his apartment, the courtyard or at the nursing home.

It s an increasingly common strategy in San Diego County, which has seen its supply of homes drop 55 percent over the last year, leading to bidding wars. Now, sellers are getting multiple offers above the asking price.
All San Diego County run COVID-19 vaccination sites now accepting walk-ups
Beginning Tuesday, all County hosted sites are open for walk-up vaccinations without an appointment while supplies last each day.

SAN DIEGO San Diego County will now begin allowing for walk-up, no appointment vaccines at all of the County hosted sites. These sites will continue to offer scheduled appointments through the county website: vaccinesuperstationsd.com to go along with doses set aside each day for individuals that choose to walk up.
San Diego County is currently in the vaccination phase that is open to anyone at no cost for anyone that is 16 and older and lives or works in San Diego County.

He’s talking about Esperanto, a language which belongs to everybody because it belongs to no nationality. It started with an idealistic Polish eye doctor, Ludwig Lejzer Zamenhov, who created it mostly while he was a still a kid and published it in 1887.
And the world still needs it, says John. “At the moment, English is an international language. And yet it’s about the most difficult, hard to pronounce, inconsistent language on the planet.”

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) â Starting Tuesday, all San Diego County-hosted coronavirus vaccine sites are open for walk-up, no-appointment vaccinations.
Walk-up vaccinations will be available while supplies last each day at that site, according to the county. The county will still offer appointments that can be scheduled ahead of time online, but some doses will be set aside each day for walk-up patients.
