Corona positivity ratio falls to lowest level in 10 weeks

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan s coronavirus positivity ratio has dropped to the lowest level in 10 weeks as the country reported a 4.82 percent positivity rate Tuesday after 2,253 new infections and 92 deaths over the 24 hours.
The country had reported an 8.5 percent average positivity rate during the last 30 days. As per official figures provided by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the total caseload of the country now stands at 905,852.
About 813,855 people have recovered from the virus in the country so far with the number of active cases in Pakistan standing at 62,295, Geo News reported. Although coronavirus cases are decreasing across the country, Sindh is reporting a spike in infections resulting in stringent restrictions imposed by authorities across the province.

Pakistan on Wednesday reported 2,724 new infections of COVID-19 after conducting 59,076 tests a positivity ratio of 4.6 percent.
Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood on Tuesday announced he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus and was exhibiting mild symptoms. “InshAllah will get well soon,” he added in a posting on Twitter. Mahmood is fully vaccinated, but was present at an event in the morning, raising concerns about other participants entering quarantine to prevent the possibility of the virus spreading further.

Shafqat Mahmood tests positive for Covid-19
Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood has been tested positive for Covid-10, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday.
Later in a tweet, the minister said: “I have tested positive for coronavirus. I feel fine with mild symptoms. InshAllah will get well soon.”

According to the channel, he has mild symptoms and he has requested the nation to pray for his prompt recovery. Several top government officials including Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr Arif Alvi have tested positive for the coronavirus in the past.
