The government is targeting the pilot implementation of voluntary face-to-face classes in low coronavirus risk areas from January 11 to 23, 2021, Malacañang said Tuesday.
The two-week dry run of in-person classes in select schools will be conducted by the Department of Education (DepEd) to determine if such implementation can be expanded, according to Presidential spokesman Harry Roque.

The planned pilot implementation of such classes proposed by the education department was approved by President Duterte and the Cabinet during a meeting Monday.
“DepEd shall conduct pilot implementation in select schools in areas categorized as low risk,” Roque said in Filipino during a televised press briefing. “Pilot shall only be done where there is commitment for shared responsibility among DepEd, LGUs (local government units) and parents,” he added.
