A new poll by a Hong Kong university indicates 60% of people under 30 want to leave the city.
803 people aged 15 to 35 were polled, and 57.5% of them said they wanted to emigrate if they can.
Those polled also scored their optimism about Hong Kong s future 2.95 out of 10.

The South China Morning Post reported the results of the survey, which were released by the Chinese University of Hong Kong s Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies on Thursday. Some 57.5% of those polled said they would opt to emigrate if they could a significant uptick from 2019 s poll numbers. Then, 42.3% of people polled said they d like to leave.

China quiet about return of African foreign students
The COVID-19 pandemic has dealt learning a severe blow across the world, but it appears to have shattered the dreams of African students enrolled in Chinese universities, who left China early last year during the lockdown and are still not sure when they will be allowed back to these institutions to continue with their studies.
The students, many of them members of the China International Students Union, have, since January 2021, petitioned the Chinese government repeatedly to be allowed to return to complete their studies, as most universities in China have resumed in-person teaching.
