The Airline History Museum, an attraction at the Wheeler Downtown Airport for 35 years, is fighting to prevent its collection of classic airplanes from being evicted by the private operator of the city-owned facility. The non-profit’s dispute is with Signature Flight Support, which holds the master lease with the city on several hangars, associated aircraft parking aprons and buildings at Wheeler. The museum has filed a lawsuit in Clay County Circuit Court, and its online petition drive has garnered 6,000 supporters.

28-year-old Carmi resident Whitney P. McKenzie was killed in a two-vehicle accident yesterday in Harrisburg. State police say she failed to yield to oncoming traffic in a 2011 Chevy Malibu and turned into the path of a 2001 Mack semi, driven by 28-year-old Carl B. Wood. McKenzie was pronounced deceased on-scene, and Wood refused treatment. Fairfield Memorial Hospital says it began giving the second dose of COVID-19 vaccines yesterday to employees and medical staff who received the first dose on December 16 th. As with the county health department, FMH says it has not been informed of a date when it can offer the vaccine to the public, but it will share that information when it becomes available.

U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger s voting record largely aligns with Trump. However, Kinzinger has recently made an effort to shoot down some accusations from the president and his allies after losing the election to President-elect Joe Biden. Kinzinger has called on other Republicans to accept the results of the election as well. In a video posted Monday, state Rep. Darren Bailey, R-Xenia, called for U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a Channahon Republican, to step down, saying his “stupid” comments about Trump are not in line with party values.

State Representative Darren Bailey is reminding people of some new laws that will take effect on Friday, including one that will limit the cost of a 30-day supply of insulin to $100, whether or not that is the actual cost of providing the medicine. Though not a new law, Bailey also reminds people the state minimum wage will increase to $11 per hour and will continue to increase until it hits $15 per hour in 2025. 22-year-old Benton resident Aaron A. Clark was arrested by Franklin County authorities earlier this month on a Hamilton County warrant for aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 17. The arrest stemmed from an investigation into a sexual assault complaint at Hamilton Memorial Hospital on August 26
