MOORHEAD A suspect has been arrested in the shooting death of a 24-year-old taxi driver from Moorhead, early Wednesday morning, May 5, in south Moorhead.
Willie Alonzo Sparkman Jr., 18, was arrested Wednesday evening without incident and was being held in the Cass County Jail in Fargo, according to a Facebook post from the Moorhead Police Department.

MOORHEAD A Moorhead man accused of a November shooting at a Dilworth apartment building will spend time behind bars for illegally possessing a firearm, but jurors could not decide whether he was guilty of the shooting itself.
A Clay County jury found Dennis Scott Hackley, 38, guilty on Thursday, April 29, of being a felon illegally in possession of a firearm but could not reach an agreement on three felony counts of second-degree assault. The three charges alleged he shot at two people and injured one on Nov. 12 at an apartment on Fifth Street Northwest in Dilworth.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – A man has been arrested for hate messages spray-painted on the Moorhead Fargo Islamic Center.
Moorhead Police say through tips including important information from a employee of a local business, detectives were able to take 22-year-old Benjamin Enderle of Moorhead into custody. Reports have been forwarded to the Clay County Attorney’s Office with the request of charges of felony harassment and damage to property in the second degree.
“These crimes were enhanced due to hate related acts. The Moorhead Police Department appreciates the interest and compassion shown by local citizens, media, and the community as a whole in solving this crime,” the department said.
Police have arrested a man for hate-related crimes.
Moorhead Police say 22-year-old Benjamin Stewart Enderle was arrested Tuesday night in South Moorhead for the hate-related messaging spray-painted on the outside walls of the Moorhead Fargo Islamic Center.
The incident happened on April 25th. That s when officers took a report from members of the Mosque who arrived early in the morning to find several hate-based messages.
Moorhead PD says a local business employee also played a major role in finding the suspect.
Enderle has been booked into the Clay County Jail, and the reports have been forwarded to the Clay County Attorney’s Office with the request for Felony Harassment and Felony Criminal Damage to Property in the Second Degree.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Moorhead Police are crediting a Walmart loss prevention officer for identifying the man suspected of spray-painting hate messages including “Death to Islam” on the Moorhead Fargo Islamic Center.
Capt. Deric Swenson says the loss prevention officer noticed through publicly-released images that red spray paint was used in the incident and began to examine store purchase records.
Swenson says the employee did some independent detective work and found a man on surveillance video purchasing red spray paint at the Fargo Walmart on 13th Ave. S.
Swenson says the suspect, 22-year-old Benjamin Enderle of Moorhead, was wearing the same jacket as seen on surveillance video at the mosque.
