SOUTHINGTON A local man was charged on a federal indictment after authorities say he was found in possession of millions of images of child sexual abuse, according to prosecutors.
A federal grand jury in New Haven returned the indictment on March 29 that charged 65-year-old Richard E. Smith with receipt and possession of child pornography.
Smith appeared Friday before Judge Robert A. Richardson via video conference because of the ongoing pandemic. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
