WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Ranking Member of the Strategic Forces Subcommittee, and co-founder of the Senate Artificial Intelligence Caucus, has secured major wins for New Mexico in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2021.

The Department of Energyâs weapons-and-nonproliferation arm will soon review the possible environmental consequences of so-called dilute-and-dispose, the alternative to the mothballed Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility.
In a notice published Wednesday morning, the National Nuclear Security Administration announced its intent to produce an environmental impact statement for the Surplus Plutonium Disposition program, of which the Savannah River Site is a pivotal player.
