RAJKOT: Aiming for ‘multi sectoral development’ and ‘Green Rajkot,’ municipal commissioner Udit Agrawal on Monday presented a budget of Rs 2,275 crore for financial year 2021-22, which is around Rs 150 crore higher than last year’s proposed budget.
There were no new taxes and the tax rates also have been kept unchanged. However, the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) will intensify its property tax collection. The target for property tax collection for the next fiscal has been fixed at Rs 340 crore as against the average collection of Rs 266 crore.
The key focus will be to enhance the city’s green initiatives besides providing services to newly merged areas.
