A grieving parent, Aminu Dayyabu, whose son, Aminu Faruq is among the missing children from Friday’s attack on Government Science Senior Secondary School, GSSS, in Kankara, Katsina State, yesterday, begged the Federal Government to pay ransom and set free their children from their abductors. He spoke the mind of other parents of the missing students.

The military is considering many options, including seeking external help, to rescue over 300 schoolboys of Government Science Secondary School (GSSS) Kankara, Katsina State.
A top military officer confided in THISDAY yesterday that one of the options being considered is for the federal government to seek assistance from the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) to launch a rescue bid leveraging on its sophisticated technology for such operation.
Besides, the military also dismissed claims by Boko Haram that it masterminded the abduction of the pupils last Friday.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured Nigerians that the party will work with the Federal Government to improve the security situation in the country.
The assurance came after about 500 students were abducted from Government Science Secondary School Kankara in Katsina State on Sunday, the nation learnt again that more than 330 of those students are still missing.
In a statement by the Chairman of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni, “This is a particularly sad and difficult moment not just for the families of the student victims and the government and people of Katsina State for the entire country. Our thoughts and prayers are therefore with the victims and their families as well as the government and people of Katsina State.

The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has asked security agencies in the country to dig deeper into last Friday’s abduction of hundreds of school boys at the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara in Katsina State.
Governor of Yobe state and Chairman, Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC, Gov. Mai Mala Buni gave the charge in a statement issued Tuesday in Abuja.
According to Buni, this is a particularly sad and difficult moment not just for the families of the victims and the government and people of Katsina State but for the entire country.
