2023: PDP angling to bury Nigeria Akpanudoedehe

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP may have recently touched the tiger’s tail with its advisory to the ruling All Progressives Congress APC to throw in the towel and agree that it has failed Nigerians.
But the APC would have none of it as it noted that the PDP has lately been engrossed in concocted tales and ramblings on the polity, advising that Nigerians be spared the trauma of a reminder of the disaster of the PDP’s years of misadventure in government.
“The party should allow Nigerians forgive it for the numerous transgressions and agony it had put Nigerians through many years of misrule”, APC said in a statement.
The PDP has consistently criticised the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, who was elected and sworn in on May 29, 2015, and re-elected for a second term in 2019.
While the candidate of the then ruling PDP, President Goodluck Jonathan conceded defeat even before the final announcement of the official results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 2015, his party has consistently bashed the policies and programmes of the APC-led government.
The PDP has been engaging the present administration on issues of national security, economy and corruption.
The party is also using the issue of restructuring the country as a campaign tool, as well as the spate of killings, poverty, hunger, unemployment and alleged corruption in the land against the APC.

The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has condoled with the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, over the death of his father, Chief Arthur Okowa.
The condolence was contained in a statement personally signed by the National Chairman, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state.
Part of the statement reads; “A retired educationist and renowned community leader, the Owa-Alero community in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State and indeed the entire Ika nation has lost a truly illustrious son.
“Delta state and indeed the country will miss late Chief Arthur Okowa’s wisdom, patriotic deposition and elderly counsel which were immensely valuable to the development of Delta state and nation.
APC begins distribution of membership Registration Materials to States

The ruling All Progressives Congress APC said it has begun the distribution of registration materials ahead of its membership registration, revalidation and update exercise slated to begin on February 2.
This was disclosed in a statement issued Thursday in Abuja by the media directorate of the party.
“Ahead of the membership registration, revalidation and update exercise, the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday began the distribution of registration materials from the party’s national secretariat in Abuja to all designated registration centres nationwide.

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday injected fresh vigour into efforts by his administration to combat insurgency, banditry and other forms of criminality with the appointment of new service chiefs.
Buhari’s media adviser, Mr. Femi Adesina, in a statement that announced the appointments, named tested insurgency war general, Maj. Gen. Lucky Irabor as the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS); Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru as Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral Awwal Gambo as the Chief of Naval Staff; while Air-Vice Marshal Isiaka Amao emerged the Chief of Air Staff.
