The town hall, which takes place at 1:00 pm, will be hosted by the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) and Louisiana Department of Health. All members of the Louisiana community are invited to take part in the event. A question and answer session will follow with Subject Matter Experts about COVID-19, the vaccines and the road to post-pandemic recovery.

Wind gusts in excess of 60 mph are possible along with the potential for large hail. Much of the state has already dealt with dangerous weather lines for the past several days.

According to the National Weather Service, there is the potential for flash flooding through Friday across much of south Louisiana. A state of emergency is an administrative step that authorizes the use of state resources to aid in storm response efforts.
