Montana Department of Corrections announces new mission statement, restructure of agency Department of Corrections August 03 2021 The Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) has a new mission statement and organizational structure to better reflect the goals of the agency and move those forward over the next several years, DOC Director Brian Gootkin announced recently. The new mission statement “Creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment“ was developed through a collaborative process involving DOC employees. “At the DOC, we have two major goals: public safety and rehabilitation,” Director Gootkin said. “This reorganization supports our mission.” Key elements of the restructure include:
