The new facility, planned for Foundation Park in Sioux Falls
, will result in more than 600 new full-time jobs by 2025 and include automated state-of-the-art food production lines, a warehouse and distribution center, shipping and receiving docks, and office space. The project will represent an overall investment of several hundred million dollars over the course of construction and will be funded through operating cash flow. Further investments in the facility’s capabilities will be made as demand increases over the next several years.

Utah Pride Center lost massive funding in 2020, but need for services rose
The Utah Pride Center faced a tough 2020, not able to host crucial fundraising events normally done in-person. 2021 could be just as challenging for the nonprofit s fundraising efforts.

The building sat empty over the New Year holiday, with spaces like the youth and family area in the basement colorfully decorated and ready for when people can return. When school is happening, this place is like the place to be. It s so fun. It s just like, alive, said Jonathan Foulk, Utah Pride Center s associate executive director. SALT LAKE CITY A former state lawmaker who ran unsuccessfully against now Sen. Mitt Romney in the 2018 GOP U.S. Senate primary is returning to the Utah Legislature this time as a state senator.
Republican Mike Kennedy won the Utah County Republican Party s special election Tuesday night to fill the vacant seat left behind by Senate Majority Whip Dan Hemmert, R-Orem, who resigned to serve as Gov.-elect Spencer Cox s director of the Governor s Office of Economic Development.
Kennedy previously served in the Utah House when he was first elected in 2012 to fill a seat left vacant by John Dougall when he resigned to run for state auditor. He won re-election twice, but announced he would not seek re-election in 2018 in order to run for U.S. Senate. He lost to Romney in the GOP primary.
