LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) â Governor Gretchen Whitmer Thursday unveiled her Michigan Economic Jumpstart Plan, which she says would allocate a portion of the federal relief funding to support and invest in working people and small businesses in Michigan.
Under the governorâs plan, the state will increase incentives to boost wages to attract applicants, provide grants to small businesses to ramp up hiring, and expand access to childcare for families with young children who want to return to work but cannot. The plan will still needs approval from the state legislature.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. Six Grand Rapids Public School Students (GRPS) joined Governor Gretchen Whitmer Thursday afternoon at the DeVos Place, and received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The students are 16 to 18-years-old, and are serving as Protect Michigan Commission COVID-19 ambassadors. They urged their peers to also get vaccinated and stop the spread of COVID-19.
