Oppn ready to take on Khattar govt in Haryana Budget session

Chandigarh, Mar 4: The budget session of the Haryana Assembly beginning Friday is likely to be stormy with the Congress geared up to corner the ruling BJP-JJP coalition over law and order and the Centre’s new farm legislation, while the government is set to bring a possibly contentious “anti-conversion” bill.
The session will begin with Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya s address. Khattar, who also holds the finance portfolio, will present the budget on March 10. Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced that the Congress will bring a no-confidence motion against the government.

AAA The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Wednesday urged the Haryana government to “relook” at the legislation that provides for reservation in private jobs for local candidates, saying reservation impacts productivity and competitiveness. The industry body said it hopes the State government re-looks at the legislation. CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee said, “At a time when it is important to attract investments at the State level, the Haryana government could have avoided imposing restrictions on industry.” Asserting that reservation affects productivity and Industry competitiveness, Mr. Banerjee said, “We hope the State government of Haryana re-looks at the legislation. Haryana Governor nod to Bill providing 75% quota to state people in private sector jobs
Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya has given assent to the Bill providing 75 per cent reservation in the private sector to job seekers from the state, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Tuesday. The Haryana Assembly had late last year passed the Bill, a key poll promise made by the ruling alliance partner Jannayak Janta Party. The Haryana Governor today gave his assent to the Bill entailing 75 per cent reservation in the private sector to job seekers from the state. The government will notify it soon, the CM told reporters at a press conference here.
