Kolkata: Nandigram’s Boyal witnessed high drama as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remained inside a voting booth for two hours amidst complaints that Bharatiya Janata Party workers were not allowing voting to take place there.
At around 3.45 pm, she was helped out by police and Central forces. Reporters, security forces and bystanders swarmed the rural school, resulting in scenes of unprecedented poll-day drama in such a rural setting.

Nandigram: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee witnessed ruckus and intense sloganeering when she reached a polling booth in Nandigram as the constituency went to polls on Thursday (April 1).
Allegations of booth capturing were rife even as the chants of Jai Shree Ram echoed through the area.
Banerjee, who was visibly angry at the chaos, called up Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar complaining of a total breakdown of law and order at the polling booth. She alleged that non-Bangla speaking outsiders were creating ruckus in the area.

Nandigram: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee raised ruckus and loud slogans as soon as she reached the polling station at a polling booth in Nandigram on Thursday (April 1).
Allegations of booth capturing were also sparked when slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” were echoing in the area.
Banerjee, who was visually in anarchy, complained to Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar about the breakdown of law and order at the polling station. He alleged that non-Bengali speaking “outsiders” are creating uproar in the area.
Banerjee said, “No one is speaking in Bengali. All are outsiders. They are goons sent from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and are being protected by central forces.”
