Kalamazoo County preps for vaccinations of children 12 to 15-years-old

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) 12 to 15-year-olds will be able to get COVID-19 vaccines soon. Kalamazoo County Health Director Jim Rutherford says now that the CDC has formulated guidelines for administering the vaccine for adolescents, parents can already begin getting them signed up. “Great news with the 12 to 15-year-olds. (We’re) very excited to be able to start reaching that population as well.” He says they already have already made strides getting older teens to their clinics, with 38% already inoculated. “We’re) probably in the top two or three counties in the state of Michigan, so we’ve had great luck reaching this age group. Hopefully, we will continue to have great luck reaching the 12 to 15-year-olds.”
