COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SENIOR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES KICKS OFF MAY AS OLDER AMERICANS MONTH WITH ANNUAL SALUTE TO SENIORS EVENT Written by Westchester County 53   The Department of Senior Programs and Services (DSPS) will be recognizing the month of May as Older Americans Month with the 53 rd Annual Salute to Seniors event. Salute to Seniors has been reimagined into four smaller, safer, outdoor events in northern, central and southern Westchester. The information and business expos will feature music as well as information on programs, services and products targeted at the senior community and their caregivers. I KICKED COVID TO THE CURB!  CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED I kicked COVID to the curb! That’s the new campaign Westchester County has launched to encourage Westchester County teens and young adults to get vaccinated for COVID-19.  The campaign includes a PSA with New York Knick and Ossining native Obi Toppin and Knick Immanuel “IQ” Quickley. Along with the New York Knicks PSA, the County is also launching an aggressive social media campaign, hosting a youth town hall May 13 to answer questions young people might have about the vaccine and is partnering with local schools, libraries and more to directly get the information in the hands of the young people and their parents.

On Tuesday, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-Cold Spring, and Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, a Republican, toured the Poughkeepsie Galleria Vaccination Site, set up in the former JCPenney store, and encouraged everyone in the Hudson Valley to get the vaccine.
