Anne Arundel County reported 259 new coronavirus cases and three new deaths Wednesday. Maryland reported 2,516 new cases and 37 new deaths.The county case rate fell slightly from 64.9 on Tuesday but remains high at 62.7 cases per 100,000 people. The metric reflects the number of infections per 100,000 people, averaged over seven days, to judge how quickly and widely the virus is spreading in the county.

The county’s first community solar project is scheduled to come online this July in Tracy’s Landing. Three more are being considered within a few miles of the intersection of Bayard and Sands roads in southern Anne Arundel.
Anne Arundel’s second pandemic-era budget process will be overseen by Chris Trumbauer, a top advisor to County Executive Steuart Pittman, who has been selected to serve as budget officer permanently. Trumbauer has a decade of experience working with the county budget, including eight years serving on the Anne Arundel County Council, and two years as a senior adviser to Pittman.
