El Paso to get 1st shipment of Johnson & Johnson doses amid registration update
EL PASO, Texas More El Pasoans are set to be vaccinated this upcoming week with Texas being allotted more than one million first doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
While we still don t know how many doses El Paso is expected to get, but County Judge Riccardo Samaniego is excited about the possibility of this next distribution. City Leaders Respond to Gov’s Order to Re-Open Texas
Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Tuesday announced that Texas would open “100%” on Wednesday, March 10th at 12:01 am. Also, the mask requirement in Texas will expire at the same time.
Here’s what El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser and County Judge Ricardo Samaniego had to say moments ago. Keep in mind, it matters because Abbott said that if the situation worsens, local and county authorities will have the option to reinstate pandemic restrictions.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said he s moving to open Texas 100% and will issue a new executive order to take effect March 10 rescinding most of his earlier orders, including restrictions on business occupancy and the July 2 statewide mask order. Texas is in a far better position now than when I issued my last executive order back in October, Abbott said, referring to his order allowing bars to reopen under certain conditions. Cases spiked after he eased business restrictions in the fall.
