But six people in Oregon on Tuesday managed to secure their shot because they happened to be stuck on a snowy highway at the right place at the right time.
Officials with the Josephine County, near the California border, had been holding a three-day COVID-19 vaccination event at a local high school when they had to close early. A snowstorm was coming in during the clinic, and we had to leave before the vaccines were administered, Josephine County Public Health Director Mike Weber told BuzzFeed News.

When Josephine County Public Health staff and volunteers concluded their mass vaccination at Illinois Valley High School yesterday, they never imagined they might be setting up an impromptu clinic on the way back to Grants Pass.
But that s exactly what happened when a snowstorm stranded about 20 personnel on Redwood Highway near Hayes Hill.
At the end of the IVHS clinic on Tuesday afternoon, the team still had six doses of COVID-19 vaccinations left to administer. Recipients of the leftover vaccinations had been identified in Grants Pass, but the snow-covered highway meant those doses would not make it to them before they expired.
