MCPL, KMB host Wicked Gardening event at Centennial Library At the event, held on National Gardening Day, representatives from Keep Midland Beautiful discussed the benefits of gardening and how to get started. Author: Mason Storrs Updated: 5:22 PM CDT April 14, 2021 MIDLAND, Texas Midland County Public Libraries and Keep Midland Beautiful teamed up Wednesday for an event called “Wicked Gardening” to celebrate National Gardening Day.  The event, which was part of MCPL s Wicked Plants exhibit, was held at the Midland County Centennial Library. Representatives from KMB discussed the benefits of gardening and how to get started. This included plants featured in the exhibit as well as many other kinds.

Remote and online work has been the reality for teachers and students in Alamance County for the past 11 months, and even as the county returns to in-person learning, three out of five school days will be remote. For some kids, accessing the internet isn’t always feasible and Alamance-Burlington School System has tried to bridge the digital divide — the gap between those who have internet access and those who don’t — as most schools have been engaging in remote learning.

Girls Who Code is going on at the York County Libraries starting Jan. 20 through March 23, for girls in third through fifth grade. (WYDaily/ File photo) York County Public Libraries is known for hosting a plethora of free events and activities for the community. This season is no different, it is offering a Girls Who Code program and a boys program, Scratch Coding for Boys, which connects young club members as they learn computer science skills together. The girls’ program started Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 4-5 p.m. and will go on for the next nine weeks. Sarah Jordan, the youth services librarian assistant at Tabb Library, will be hosting both the Girls Who Code club and Scratch Coding for Boys virtually using Zoom.
