Okaloosa to drop below freezing for northern areas; cold night shelters open Okaloosa County residents should expect temperatures below 40 degrees Wednesday through Friday at night. Crestview and other cities in north Okaloosa County will dip into the 30s for the next three nights and below freezing on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Okaloosa County Public Safety Director Patrick Maddox has announced the opening of cold night shelters in preparation for the cold weather. Our strategic partners will open 2 cold weather shelters due to the National Weather Service’s forecast of temperatures below 40 degrees in Okaloosa County, Maddox said.
