A 17-year-old in the home also was stabbed but survived, Passaic County prosecutors said.
Officials have not released many details about the killing, including who they believe was responsible, although they hinted that the violence was perpetrated by a relative. Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said more information would be released publicly as the investigation continued.
No arrests have been reported.
Prosecutors said police were called about 7:04 a.m. to the third-floor home at 96 N. 6th Street on a report of a stabbing. That s where they found the injured child and teenager.
The youngest victim was pronounced dead as soon as he arrived at the hospital. The teen was released from the hospital.
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said in a statement that Keco admitted under oath to sending two text messages to Baycora with the purpose to terrorize him and in reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror.

UPDATE: A fire apparently ignited by a gas explosion at a Wayne home killed three people, authorities confirmed Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responding to initial reports of occupants trapped found the windows blown out and flames consuming the 1½-story wood-frame house on Jackson Avenue just after 6 p.m. I live 3 houses away. It took under an hour to knock down the main body of the blaze, which apparently broke out in the rear of the home. It was declared under control just after 7:30 p.m.

A 21-year-old Passaic County man was arrested Monday and charged with killing another man the day after an argument that turned physical, authorities said.
Kamar Isom, of Paterson, faces a murder charge in the shooting death of Raaseon Adams, 45, on April 25 outside the Adams’ home in the 200 block of Summer Street, according to investigators.
Adams was found lying on the sidewalk, struck multiple times by gunfire. He was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he later died, police said.
“The subsequent investigation revealed that the day prior to the murder, Isom and the victim engaged in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation,” Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said in a statement.
