Emergency landing in Timisoara aircraft flying on Bucharest-Madrid route after passenger fainted

21/01/2021 13:50 The Tarom airline operating a flight on the route Bucharest-Madrid, on Thursday, with 183 passengers on board, landed in Timisoara, for a medical emergency involving one of the passengers. The representatives of the press office of the County Ambulance Service (SAJ) Timis told AGERPRES that the 64-year-old passenger felt sick on the plane, and the pilot decided to land in Timisoara. The passenger took a rapid COVID-19 test, which came out positive, and then she was transported to the Timisoara Municipal Hospital for medical care, said SAJ Timis s spokesman, Florin Crisan. The aircraft will take off from Timisoara to Madrid shortly, according to the information posted on the Timisoara Airport website.

Washington Firefighters Extinguish Chimney Fire Wednesday

A house fire was confined to a chimney Wednesday morning in Washington. Washington Fire Chief Brendan DeLong tells KCII at about 9:03 a.m. the department was called to a smoke-filled residence at 1293 South Avenue E. Firefighters found flames coming out of the chimney and extinguished the fire. Minimal damage was incurred to the home, and crews left the scene around 10 a.m. All occupants had exited the home and no injuries were reported. Two Injured in Vehicle Wreck North of Washington

Two people were injured in a vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, at about 3:08 p.m. Carol A. Ray of Washington was driving a red Toyota Prius westbound on 220th Street, or County Road G36, while Greg D. Plank of Wellman was driving a Chevy El Camino eastbound. Ray began turning south onto Riverside Road toward Washington when her vehicle was struck by Plank’s in the oncoming lane. Washington County Ambulance Service transported one person to University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, and transported another to Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Ray was cited for unsafe turning. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Washington police, fire, and rescue departments also assisted at the scene.
