MACON, Ga. (AP) - A passerby discovered the body of man shot to death under a mattress that had been dumped in middle Georgia.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones tells local news outlets that 26-year-old Amond Rashad Norwood, of Macon, was found dead Friday under a mattress, shot multiple times.
His body and the mattress were part of an illegal dump site in a residential neighborhood west of Macon’s downtown.

Bibb County Sheriff David Davis told WMAZ-TV that investigators believe Norwood was killed on a nearby street.

MACON, Ga. A Macon man is dead after his car crashed and exploded into flames during a chase with state patrol troopers in Macon.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says 35-year-old Angelo Martin died after losing control of his truck and crashing into a tree.
According to a release from the Bibb County Sheriff s Office, Martin was trapped in the truck after the wreck when the vehicle caught on fire.
Deputies tried to extinguish the fire and get Martin out of the truck, but the rescue attempts were unsuccessful.

MACON, Ga. An overnight shooting in West Macon man left one man dead.
Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says someone reported a man lying on the sidewalk near the intersection of Columbus Road and Hortman Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday.
Someone shot him several times.
An ambulance rushed him to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead about half an hour later.
He was 55-years-old.
Once that happens, he’ll release the victim s name.
