Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot responds to President Biden’s gun control action
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot issued a statement on Friday in response to President Joe Biden s executive actions on gun control.
Sheriff Leon says he continues to support the Second Amendment which protects the right to keep and bear arms. He adds, I will take no action to enforce or comply with any unconstitutional executive actions on gun control or any other constitutional rights guaranteed to the citizens of the United States.
Sheriff Wilmot s full statement: I am earnestly concerned that the President’s executive actions and proposed legislation accomplish absolutely nothing to protect American citizens and instead trample on their constitutional rights afforded by the 2nd Amendment.

The Biden administration released new guidelines Thursday directing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to adopt a more targeted approach to its duties. The policy is similar to those held by previous administrations. It prioritizes the removal of illegal migrants who threaten public safety or national security.
