Beck Taxi s operations manager calls the measures a good first step for drivers who ve largely remained parked during COVID By Radheyan Simonpillai
Toronto is relieving some financial stress on taxi drivers during the pandemic.
Earlier this week, City Council voted to temporarily reduce renewal and regulatory fees and reinstate licenses for cabs that missed payment deadlines.

Corbett of the Ontario Divisional Court will protect the Dominion Foundry buildings from further damage at least until a full hearing at the end of February,” community group Friends of the Foundry said in a statement Friday evening. The buildings at 153-185 Eastern Avenue are on the former site of the Dominion Wheel and Foundries Company (known locally as the Foundry site).

Like nearby Moss Park (and many other neighbourhoods in Toronto, mind you) Cabbagetown South is frequently littered with paraphernalia such as needles and debris.
Attempted break-ins and scary encounters are common, according to those who live in the neighbourhood, and many no longer feel safe.
