Vehicles collide at rural Brainerd intersection

Two people were injured Friday morning, Dec. 18, when their vehicles collided at the intersection of Wise Road and Dellwood Drive.
The Brainerd Police Department responded to the crash at 8:28 a.m. An investigation found that Alison L. Coventry, 18, Pillager, was traveling east and Barbara J. Woese, 80, Merrifield, was traveling west on Wise Road. Woese had slowed down to make a left turn onto Dellwood Drive when she failed to yield to Coventry’s vehicle and the two vehicles collided, police reported.

DEERWOOD A report of a missing 11-year-old Deerwood boy who took off on his bicycle Monday, Dec. 21, and had not returned home resulted in about 30 emergency personnel searching.
Deerwood Police Chief Mark Taylor said the father of the boy called police at 3:12 p.m. stating his son left on a bicycle at 1:30 p.m. on Forest Road something he typically does but he had not returned.
Personnel from the Deerwood police and fire departments, the Crosby Police Department, Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, the sheriff’s drone team and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted in the search for the missing boy.

BRAINERD, Minn. Two Minnesota business owners who’ve defied Gov. Tim Walz’s executive orders limiting restaurant and bar operations say they’re evaluating legal options to push back on fines and license suspensions.
On Wednesday, McCulloch set up a GoFundMe page to solicit donations because he said several customers offered to do so themselves. As of late Friday night, 94 donors had contributed a total of $10,530 toward a $100,000 goal. He said any funds not needed as part of the legal battle would go to charitable causes and he’ll be transparent about how the money is spent, including posting receipts.

I think that s the best way of going about it,” McCulloch said. “ … I will be fighting this right now. … I will not be paying the fine. I’m going to go to court for that and see how far I have to take it until they force me to pay it.”
